Christmas Time is Here!

As we all know, Christmas is coming closer and closer. I was just thinking of some traditions my family likes to do around Christmas time.
When I was little, I remember having Christmas parties with a bunch of families from our church ward. It was sometime before Christmas and we all would bundle up and pack in the vans and drive around town looking at christmas lights. The christmas music would be blasting in the cars and we would caravan around, sometimes 4-5 vans in a row, to look at lights. And what every caravan needs is Chinese fire drills!!! It didn't matter what van you went into either. The parents would all jump out, and the kids would all hurry to file out of the back seats and run around the cars yelling! So much fun!! We would then go back to someone's house for drinks, treats and games.
After awhile it changed to just one family and my own. We would gather together and make treat plates and deliver them to a bunch of people in the ward and sing them christmas carols. We did this for years. Most of us kids are now out of the house and the married ones aren't at home every christmas. But we still have those fun memories of caroling to those we love and singing with great friends.
Another tradition my family used to do was that all the kids would get up in the morning and deliver the newspapers together and then when we got back we would open presents. I don't remember how long this one lasted, but I do know that when the paper route became mine, no one else wanted to get up and help me christmas morning, haha.
I love Christmas time! I can't wait to get home and spend a wonderful break with my family and fiance!!!!

Word of the Blog: "Carols." A song, especially of joy!! I would say that Christmas carols are very joyful! Especially since they praise the birth and life of our Savior and older brother Jesus Christ!!
