Highlights of Summer

This summer came to an end quite quickly. I was working and hanging out with friends and then closed my summer with a trip home, surprising Kyle a few days early, and a road trip to Sacramento and the Northern California Beach with some friends!! Here are a few of the highlights that I got pictures of to remember it by!

If you look closely you can see my marvelous 'End-of-the-summer-art'. One Sunday I just decided that I wanted to put a side-walk chalk mural on the side of the cement wall in front of my apartment. I covered every inch!!!

One bright summer day we had the door open to my apartment. We were just chillin, everyone doing their own thing when we saw this little guy run into our apartment from outside. He is a little cutie!! He ran into the kitchen and so my friend and I cornered him and I caught him in this pink cup. I admired how small and adorable he was, took a picture, and then put him outside down the street aways. He is so cute!!

This is my Bishop's Challenger!!! Don't be fooled at first glance thinking it's a GT like I did!!! Story: I moved into my new ward in May, and during ward prayer every week I see this amazing car on the street. "Who's sweet car is that???" I ask, thinking it's a GT Mustang, and every week I wish that I could have a ride. I come to find out this car is my bishop's!!!! I was so excited, but I was so scared to ask him. I go for 3 months, chickening out and not feeling like I could ask him for a ride. August comes, and I put "a ride in my bishop's car" on my birthday list to my parents. It's almost the week for me to go home and my FHE group goes to the bishop's house for FHE! "This is my chance!!" I thought. FHE is awesome, and way fun, and so afterward when everyone is eating ice cream and chatting I ask my bishop for a ride in his car!!!! He immediately says yes, so I feel dumb for waiting so long. Later in the week I was talking to a guy in my ward at work about my ride, and he says that the bishop has a Challenger, not a GT Mustang. I wasn't crushed, but I was way bummed. Here I had been telling my little brother I got a ride in a GT and it turned out not to be one. The sad part...I still haven't got a ride in a GT Mustang. The cool part...I still got a ride in a pretty sweet car, it went really fast. :)

One of the big events of my summer is dying my hair!!! I had been thinking about it all summer and wanted to temporarily get a darker color and some red. When I went home for my birthday I had scheduled an appointment with my hair dresser and was so excited to go!! I got a semi-permanent with a darker blonde and mahogany mix, I believe. It looked so good!! Hopefully you can see it a bit in this picture. She didn't color all of my hair, so I still had layers of color and my normal blonde in there too. I was very happy and I was glad that it turned out so good!!!

Being at home I got to go to church with my family, celebrate my birthday, and spend time with Kyle. I had an excursion to Sunnyside with my family to get our teeth cleaned and to see Grandma. Brother Stephens was awesome and let me drive him and Kyle around for a bit in his new convertible on my birthday!! My mom has that picture so it's not here. Kyle and I watched the meteor shower, that sadly wasn't too exciting this year and went to a BBQ with his karate group.

Sacramento and the beach was way fun, but a long drive haha. It was fun to get away and drive through beautiful parts of California. We drove down to San Francisco for a day too and we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge!!!! Awesome!! We hung out with my roommates aunt and then walked around the pier and got ice cream at Ghirardelli's (I hope I spelled that right). It was so much fun and a great way to end the summer.

School started the next week, but that's another story hahaha

Word of the Blog: "Ginormous", because the definition of this word is "simply huge", and I love it!!!
