I Love to See the Temple

(Columbia River Washington Temple)
The temple is a wonderful place!! They are beautiful, peaceful, and I have found that when you go at 5:30 in the morning it is extra quiet inside. :)

Word of the blog: "Peace". Bible Topical Guide; Comfort, Contentment, Order, Silence.
Isaiah 32:17 says, " And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance (fn: happiness, joy) for ever. "

I love my family! I know that through the temple I can live with them for ever.

I'm Famous!!

So today I get home from a long, tiresome, drive-you-crazy kind of school day and I have an email from my FACS Ed. department head, Dr. Moore, wondering if some internet site was okay with me...?? I had no idea what she was talking about so I went to the site and it is a new website for BYU FACS majors to post lesson plans and ideas to share with eachother, and other information that I thought was cool, and guess what the home page picture was...Me!!! In her class last semester I made a pie with my kitchenmates and I was so proud of the deliciously looking pie I finished I had my friend take a picture and send it to me. I put it on facebook and Dr. Moore is awesome, thought it was cute, and fished it off facebook to use on the website!!!

So yeah, I'm famous. If you want my autograph, you probably have my number if you're reading my blog, so give me a call!!! I won't charge too much ;) Maybe just a laundry load or two, haha!

Word of the blog: "FACS Ed."
This wonderful little word that I use all the time and nobody knows what it is, is the acronym for my major!! It stands for "Family and Consumer Science Education." :)

I hope spring is here to stay

The sun was out today and it was wonderful!!! I just hope that the weather is done playing tricks on us and spring has come to stay. I went outside and played volleyball, talked with friends and played catch phrase all in the sun! Good ol' vitamin D...

And I decided that I am going to start doing a "word of the blog". Random, but it sounds like fun to me!

The word of the blog is...Sea Serpent. This came from the game of catchphrase when the guy was giving us the clue Ocean Snake and expected us to figure it out. Haha

Fly pancakes

Well here I go finally starting my blog!!! And to kick it off I have this awesome quote that I got from my friend Jessi today. Enjoy and keep checkin in!!!

"I was making pancakes the other day and a fly flew into the kitchen. And that's when I realized that a spatula is a lot like a fly swatter, and a crushed fly is a lot like a blueberry, and a roommate is a lot like a fly eater."

The FACS of life...well, maybe just my life :)

I am a FACS Ed. Major at Brigham Young University, Provo. Don't be fooled!!! It's spelled 'FACS' not 'facts', haha. It stands for Family and Consumer Science Education and I love it!!!

I started out college trying a couple different majors, Information Systems, Statistics (that's right, I like Stats!), and I found I didn't like them as much as I thought I would. After 3 semesters I wanted to find the right major for me. I looked at every single major description on the BYU site and checked out the descriptions of some of the classes in a few of them. I looked at Home and Family Living and decided to take the first couple courses and a cooking class. It had all the classes in it that I enjoyed as hobbies so why not! Maybe do some minor with it so I could use the information in a nutrition job or out-of-home business.

I am happy to say I found my thing!!! In my 5th semester (beginning of my third year) I declared Home and Family Living as my major and was taking another cooking class, working as a TA in the cooking labs, and getting started in my wonderful major.

A couple weeks into the semester the other TA's were talking with me and told me about FACS Ed. (Family and Consumer Science Ed.). Basically the Home and Family Living major with a teaching degree added on. I thought, well, there's a job! Something I could get out of my major if a home business didn't work out.

So I changed my major to FACS Ed. and have been lovin' it ever since!! I love the professors, the people I work with, the classes I take, and more and more I am so excited and so nervous to be a teacher. And I am also proud to say that I have converted quite a number of BYU students to FACS Ed., the best major in the world. :)

I am going to be a teacher!!!! Sewing, cooking, nutrition, interior design, child development, CTE, teen living, fashion...bring it on!

It's my life, I do what I love. :)
